Large apparatuses for the large industry

Based in the town of Zörbig in the German region of Saxony-Anhalt, VERBIO is a leading independent manufacturer and supplier of biofuels to Germany and Europe. It has about 800 employees producing biodiesel, bioethanol and biomethane on an industrial scale at three sites, making us a one-stop shop for all the biofuels in current use.
In order to feed biogas into the natural gas grid, a more comprehensive treatment is necessary. thermowave supplied three thermoline plate heat exchangers for this process. One of them we are particularly proud of is the first TL 2000 providing a capacity of more than 7400 kW. The task of the apparatus here is to clean biogas using an ammine solution. This process increases the quality of the gas in such a way the natural gas can be fed into the natural gas grid. The heat recovery is well over 95 per cent. Another two thermoline plate heat exchangers of the TL 850 type are also included in the process.
The plant contractor BIS E.M.S. GmbH opted for the thermoline plate heat exchangers as they are best suited for the task of the plant due to their specific plate geometry.
An identical plant is being built in Schwedt in the federal state of Brandenburg. Also for this plant, thermowave provided a TL 2000.
