Rotkäppchen-Mumm champagne cellars

Every year, more than 100,000 visitors are enchanted by the very special aura of Rotkäppchen-Mumm champagne cellars.
Since 1894, the traditional brand Rotkäppchen has been produced in the five-story rock cellars. Cooling processes are crucial in many steps of champagne and wine production – this is why the use of plate heat exchangers is essential.
thermowave convinced with a wide and variable range of gasketed and welded plate heat exchanger modules and a large assortment of plates and sealing materials. Since May 2012, three thermowave plate heat exchangers of the product lines thermoline and thermolineECO have been used in the Rotkäppchen-Mumm champagne cellars.
Both the thermoline TL 650 with a heat flux of 765 kW and the thermolineECO EL 250 with a heat output of 200 kW are used for cooling propylene glycol (35 %). By the evaporation of ammonia, propylene glycol is cooled down to a temperature of -10 °C. The thermoline TL 250 with a heat flux of 350 kW is used for the cooling of ethanol (40 %).
