We are committed to protecting your privacy when personal data is processed, as well as ensuring the security of all business data, and endeavour to do so in our business processes. We process personal data collected when you visit our websites confidentially and strictly in compliance with the law.

Data privacy and information security are part of our corporate policy.

Collection and processing of personal data

Personal data is stored only if you have given us your consent or have provided us with it voluntarily for the purpose in question, for example as part of registration, a survey or a contest or for fulfilling a contract for which you have furnished the data.

In addition, the following information is gathered when you visit our Internet sites: your IP address, the website you visited us from (referrer), the pages you visited (pages), files you downloaded (downloads), what videos you watched or audio clips you listened to, the individual links you clicked on, the keywords or phrases you used in searches (site search), the duration of your visit, the browser you used, etc. If you visit us in response to online advertising, for example banners, video ads, search engine advertising, etc., we also record which banner or AdWord, etc., motivated you to visit thermowave´s Internet sites.

This information enables us to optimise our Internet sites further and tailor them even better to our visitors’ needs.

Use of cookies

1) thermowave cookies

thermowave uses cookies and active components (e.g. JavaScript) in order to track visitors’ preferences and so enable us to design our websites ideally.

Use of social plugins as part of social media

1) Facebook

thermowave’s Internet sites use social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Facebook.com, which is run by Facebook Inc., Palo Alto, United States (“Facebook”). The plugins are indicated by a Facebook logo or the addendum “Facebook” or “Like” or “Share”.

When you call one of our Internet sites that contains such plugins, they are deactivated to begin with. The plugins are only activated when you click on the provided button. By activating them, you establish a connection to Facebook and declare your consent to data being sent to Facebook. If you are logged on to Facebook, Facebook can assign your visit to your account there. If you click on the button in question, the relevant information is sent by your browser directly to Facebook and stored there.

When you can one of our Internet sites that contains such plugins, they are deactivated to begin with. The plugins are only activated when you click on the provided button. By activating them, you establish a connection to Google+ and declare your consent to data being sent to Google. If you are logged on to Google+, Google can assign your visit to your account there. If you click on the button in question, the relevant information is sent by your browser directly to Google and stored there.

3) YouTube

thermowave’s Internet sites use the video platform YouTube, which is run by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave. San Bruno, CA 94066, United States. YouTube is a platform that enables users to play audio and video files.

When you call one of our Internet sites, the YouTube player integrated there establishes a connection to YouTube in order to ensure technical transmission of the video or audio file. When the connection to YouTube is established, data is transferred to YouTube.

4) Twitter

thermowave’s Internet sites use social plugins (“plugins”) of the social network Twitter, which is run by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, United States (“Twitter”). The plugins are indicated by a Twitter logo or the addendum “Tweet”.

When you call one of our Internet sites that contains such plugins, they are deactivated to begin with. The plugins are only activated when you click on the provided button. By activating them, you establish a connection to Twitter and declare your consent to data being sent to Twitter. If you are logged on to Twitter, Twitter can assign your visit to your account there. If you click on the button in question, the relevant information is sent by your browser directly to Twitter and stored there.

Use of external links

thermowave’s Internet sites may contain links to Internet sites of third parties, i.e. providers not affiliated with us. When you click on the link, we no longer have any influence on the collection, storage or processing of any personal data that is transferred to the third party when you click on the link (such as the IP address or the URL of the page on which the link is located), since we naturally have no control over what these third parties do.

thermowave does not accept any responsibility for how such personal data is processed by third parties.

Use of personal data and compliance with the specific purpose of its use

thermowave or a service provider commissioned by thermowave uses your personal data for the purpose of technical administration of the websites, customer management, product surveys, recording and processing of complaints, recording and processing of returns, processing of spare parts requests and inquiries you make to thermowave only to the extent required for that or in accordance with the purposes specified at the relevant places on our websites. Our employees and the service providers commissioned by thermowave are obligated to maintain confidentiality and comply with the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Moreover, all technical and organisational measures required to ensure that data is protected are taken.

Security

thermowave takes security precautions in order to protect your data administered by us against manipulation, loss, destruction or being accessed by unauthorised persons or being disclosed without authorisation. Our security measures are constantly improved to reflect technological advances.

Advertising

If you provide us with personal data, we use it to be able to inform you about our products and services and possibly ask you about them. If you have given us your consent to such use of your data, but later do not wish to receive any advertising from thermowave, you can revoke your consent at any time with future effect. Your data is then deleted or, if it is still required for billing and accounting purposes, blocked.

Measuring access

We measure access to our Internet sites using the web analytics tool Google Analytics. The access data is recorded anonymously so that it can no longer be used to identify a visitor. That is done in particular by anonymising the IP address.

Cookies are used for such measurement. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and allow us to analyse how the website is used. That enables us to improve the quality of our data, in particular. The generated information on use of the website is transferred to Google Analytics. Only authorised persons are given access to the data. It is not disclosed to third parties.

Right to revoke consent

This shall not relate to data that is required for billing and accounting purposes or that must be retained under the law.
